Delhi, Renowned City of India


Delhi is officially known as the National Capital Territory (NCT). It includes New Delhi which is the capital of India which stands on the Yamuna River in the northern India. It is the second most populous metropolis in India after Mumbai and the largest city in terms of area. The city is also the eight most populous metropolises in the world. The area around Delhi was probably inhabited before the second millennium BC, and there is evidence of continuous inhabitation since at least the 6th century BC.


Delhi’s culture has been influenced by its lengthy history and historic association as the capital of India. This is exemplified by many significant monuments in the city. It has many forts surrounding it and inside the city there is Red Fort and Qutub Minar. And India Gate is also there. It also has various museums also. Its increases overall tourisms.


Delhi is also a developed city in accordance with education and employment. It also has various universities. It also has so many industries, companies, factories. Delhi has also transport facilities like airways, railways, roadways which connect Delhi externally to various countries, states, cities, villages. Delhi has its own bus services and metro services which connects each and every part of the city.


Delhi has two airports one is Domestic and International. Indira Gandhi International Airport, situated to the southwest of Delhi, is the main gateway for the city’s domestic and international civilian air traffic. It is a private airport, maintained by the GMR Group. There are several Hotels near Delhi international airport, which provides good service along with great ambience in reasonable rates.


Delhi is a major junction in the Indian railway network and is the headquarters of the Northern Railway. The five main railway stations are New Delhi railway stationOld DelhiNizamuddin Railway StationAnand Vihar Railway Terminal and Sarai Rohilla The Delhi Metro, a mass rapid transit system built and operated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), serves many parts of Delhi and the neighbouring cities GurgaonNoida and Ghaziabad.
