Deorali Orchid Sanctuary in south Gangtok (visit between March to early May and also at the end of SeptemberDecember), and Kyongnosia Alpine Sanctuary (just at a distance of 1 hour from Gangtok) are two of the best places to see them on the way to Tsomgo Lake and Nathu La.
